RGi provide a very focused commercialisation facility for technology industries. We can turn around science and bench based concepts in a fast and pragmatic fashion, to get our clients to the top of their market rapidly and cost effectively. RGi conduct substantial amounts of upstream research and development in disciplines such as fluid dynamics, fluidics, sensor technologies and material science. In many projects the technology drives the configuration of the product and our early involvement helps to ensure a fully integrated design.
In a 4000m2 complex our integrated innovation teams have at their disposal development laboratories, testing areas, in-house tool making and injection moulding and low volume production facilities. But much more than that, backed up by scientists, they have advanced skills in production engineering and the creative abilities to deliver practical, scalable innovations.
Translational design
Our involvement in technology concepts, often before the science leaves the bench, ensures that production design and a user centred approach is factored in at the optimum stage in development. This combination of disciplines turns complex engineering into elegantly intuitive solutions with lasting appeal, and also ensures a fast and effective route to market to maximises return on investment.
Commercialisation of science and technology + Brilliant design
We make sure that a development programme incorporates manufacturing and production expertise early in the assignment. Our innovation process includes integrated development with the consistent and regular creative input of in-house production engineers and technical experts. Concise and regular reviews involve teams of product designers, scientists, engineers and tooling experts – accessible every day. Close contact with the key testing centres and involvement at pre-critical stages anticipates and minimises commercial risk.
Test rigs
The development team has direct access to workshops and labs to build and test rigs at any stage. This is critical to the process as physical models provide a dimension of feedback for the creative engineer which is not available via CAD and simulations. Our practical approach connects the development process with the downstream production facilities in a unique way which allows significant risk balanced shortcuts to be taken. This Integrated Innovation process speeds time to market and allows risk reduction assessments to be carried out in conjunction with testing centres
Prototypes for user trials
Interactive design studies and in-depth collaboration frequently requires multiple pre-production prototypes. RGi has state of the art facilities to seamlessly provide full R&D support to SMEs, Multinationals, Academic institutions and Public Sector bodies.
Low volume production
We have precision machine tools for mould making to close tolerances and high quality moulding facilities in-house. We also have product assembly facilities for small to medium batch production of drug delivery devices and medical equipment, whilst our large scale assembly areas will accommodate room sized diagnostic machines or laboratory sampling and analysis equipment.
Transfer to production
With Mandarin and Eastern European project managers, and extensive experience in the transfer of production to overseas manufacture, we have comprehensive capabilities for successful and rapid technology commercialisation.
